One Year Coursework MSc Program

Students who want to obtain a strong background in fundamental physics topics should consider our one year course-based M.Sc.

Students in the one year option take a total of six courses (each typically lasting around 12 weeks) over the fall and winter terms followed by a research project in the spring and summer with a faculty member (it may also be related to the teaching of Physics). This is designed to prepare students for Ph.D. programs in Canada and Internationally and for those interested in pursuing Physics and Astronomy at an advanced level.

Click here for a full list of graduate courses in Physics and Astronomy.

Our courses are taught by leaders in their fields including our four faculty members who are jointly appointed at McMaster University and the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. This program has the same tuition fees as a research-based M.Sc. program.
