The 2000-year-old ruins of the palace of the Emperor Tiberius are on the east end of the island and only a short walk from the town center. The palace was quite extensive, and the quality of the brickwork is still visible.

past the cliffs, has the other "big" town of Anacapri.
There is one road connecting the two towns suitable for automobile
traffic, and although it looked like a one-lane road, the locals
use it as two-lane.
