POSITION FILLED AS OF JANUARY 2004
Postdoctoral Position in Experimental Nuclear Astrophysics
McMaster University – TRIUMF
The McMaster nuclear astrophysics group invites applications for a postdoctoral research position, available immediately. Our research program is presently centered on measurements of key nuclear reactions in explosive nucleosynthesis at the Isotope Separator and Accelerator (ISAC) radioactive ion-beam facility at TRIUMF in Vancouver. Our group is a member of collaborations that operate the DRAGON recoil separator and a large-scale silicon detector array (the TUDA facility) to study a variety of radiative capture and transfer reactions with radioactive beams. In addition, we presently have ongoing projects in collaboration with researchers at other international accelerator laboratories, and we will soon begin a nuclear astrophysics data project as part of the US Nuclear Data Program. Excellent candidates interested in participating in these programs and in leading independent research initiatives are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be based at the TRIUMF-ISAC facility in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vita and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to: Prof. Alan Chen (chenal@mcmaster.ca), Department of Physics and Astronomy, McMaster University, 1280 Main St. West, Hamilton, ON L8S 4M1, Canada.

Review of applications will proceed until the position is filled.
