Hi! I am a postdoctoral researcher at the
Department of Physics and Astronomy, McMaster University, and an associate postdoc at the
Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. I have previously held postdoctoral positions at the
Department of Physics and McWilliams Center for Cosmology, Carnegie Mellon University; and the
Center for Particle Cosmology, University of Pennsylvania. I obtained my PhD at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (
DAMTP), University of Cambridge; before that, I did my undergraduate in
Astronomy and Physics at Yale University.
I apply the methods of theoretical particle physics to the outstanding problems in modern cosmology and astrophysics. Cosmology is the study of the origins, evolution, and fate of the Universe, and each of these is intimately bound up with the underlying fundamental laws of physics. I have been interested in the conceptual and observational implications of modified theories of gravity for dark energy and inflation, as well as effective field theory in cosmology. I am also very interested in black hole perturbation theory and its symmetries.
