Title: Experimental String Theory
Speaker: Dr. Sergei Dubovsky
Institute: NYU
Location: ABB 102
Description:
String theory was born nearly 50 years ago as an attempt to describe strong interactions.
Confining strings (fluxtubes) is the major ingredient responsible for color confinement in quantum chromodynamics,
however their dynamics is still very poorly understood. I will review recent progress in describing the properties of confining strings, in particular the discovery of their internal structure.
