Title: Innovations in Imaging and Treatment of Cancer
Abstract:
Dr. Enger’s research focuses on personalized cancer treatments to improve treatment outcomes, predict response, reduce toxicity, and enhance patients’ quality of life. Her interdisciplinary research program combines artificial intelligence, medical physics, oncology, engineering, radiation biology and detector development. Dr. Enger’s artificial intelligence-based innovations include dose predictions, automated dose optimization, and multimodal treatment outcome prediction. Her intensity-modulated brachytherapy technology shapes the dose distribution to the tumour while sparing healthy tissues. Through in-vitro and in-vivo studies, Dr. Enger explores the relative effectiveness of different radiation qualities on tumour types to personalize radiotherapy treatments. Her work on detector technologies aims for precise radiation delivery. Dr Enger’s presentation will center around key research areas in her lab. She will provide an overview of a specific project within each research stream.
