Title: Representation in STEM and redesigning Physics Curriculum
Abstract:
Core ideas for Enhancing the Physics landscape This talk examines two initiatives important for the enhancement of key competencies of graduating physics majors and preparing physicists for the 21st century. We report on provincial High School enrolment trends in Physics for the past eleven years and how these decisions impede efforts to close the gender gap in STEM at the university level. This will segue into a discussion of our efforts to integrate computational competency as a core learning outcome of our undergraduate physics curriculum.
