Title: The Climates of Short-Period Planets
Description: A planet’s climate is among the most complex physical systems in the Universe. The McGill Exoplanet Characterization Alliance (MEChA) is a diverse and interdisciplinary research group that interrogates planetary climate by observing exoplanets. I will describe our ongoing efforts to figure out what these strange worlds are like, from hot Jupiters and lava planets, to M-Earths. The sheer diversity of these planets is forcing us to broaden our views of atmospheric physics and planetary habitability.
