Description:
There has been considerable interest in recent years in the size-tunable optical properties of quantum confined structures such as semiconductor quantum dots. Studies of CdSe and PbS colloidal quantum dots using various third- and fifth-order nonlinear optical spectroscopies will be reported. It will be shown that electron spin state flip kinetics and their consequences can be probed directly in an isotropic quantum dot system by using certain sequences of linearly polarized optical pulses.
