Tunneling spectroscopy, which was critical to studies of BCS superconductivity, is now beginning to play an important but quite different role in studies of cuprates. We focus on atomic-resolution determination of the structure of excited state spectrum using the techniques of Spectroscopic Imaging STM (SI-STM). Two major families of cuprates are studied: Ca1-x
