Title: The Higgs Particleâ?¦and so what?
Speaker: Dr. Francois Corriveau
Institute: McGill University
Location: BSB-B136
Description:
CAP Lecture
The Large Hadron Collider at CERN has recently discovered a new fundamental particle which could be the much sought after Higgs boson. Why is it so important, what does it mean to us, how was it observed, what do we do with it and what’s next? These questions and more will be addressed in a review of both the measurements from the Canada supported ATLAS experiment at the LHC and the plans for an International Linear Collider.
