The Department of Physics & Astronomy at McMaster University invites applications for a two-year Contractually Limited Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor starting on or around August 1, 2021. Duties will consist of teaching a range of undergraduate courses, and assisting in course/lab development, primarily at the introductory level.
Candidates must have completed a PhD in a relevant discipline by the start date of the appointment, and must have a demonstrated record of successful teaching at the undergraduate level. The ability to teach non-introductory undergraduate courses in our programs and an interest in innovation in teaching and learning would be assets.
The Department of Physics & Astronomy presently consists of 25 faculty and around 80 graduate students, with strengths in astrophysics, elementary particle physics, laser physics, quantum optics and ultracold atoms, medical physics, quantum condensed matter physics, soft condensed matter and biophysics.
